About

Hello! I'm Marianne, the owner of Literary Craft Parlour. I’m a book lover and vintage design geek.

Ever since I was a child, I've loved books that had interactive elements such as pull-out letters. Physical props that really make you feel like you're a part of the world.

In 2020, when I was furloughed from my day job in London, I started designing pieces of paper ephemera that corresponded to my favourite books, the first thing I ever made was a Netherfield Ball invitation for Pride and Prejudice.

These designs gradually evolved into bookmarks and I started selling them on Etsy to see if there were any others like me who appreciated bookish ephemera. It wasn’t until I joined TikTok in 2022 (and a video I posted of my bookmarks went viral) that I knew I’d found my people! I started spending more and more time designing new products, packing orders and growing our little community.

Three years down the line, I left my life in London and moved to the beautiful city of Bath. The breathtaking architecture and historic surroundings inspired me to create a wider range of vintage themed bookish products. I still wanted to make my viral bookmarks but also wanted to be able to offer products that every reader would appreciate.

This year I have been selected as part of Small Business Saturday’s 100 most inspiring businesses for 2025 as part of the SmallBiz100 campaign.

The campaign encourages people to shop small for Christmas so look out for my products in upcoming gift guides!

Thank you for visiting my little shop. I hope you find what you're looking for.
